Dr. Derek is a Harrisonville and Midwest native. He played many sports while growing up and throughout high school where he earned a baseball scholarship to Northwest Missouri State University.
Dr. Derek has practiced in clinics in Springfield and Kansas City, Mo before becoming the full time provider at Peculiar Chiropractic. He has treated a wide variety of patients, and enjoys all populations. He utilizes many different adjusting techniques while combining soft tissue therapy and corrective exercises to help his patients get their best results.
Dr. Derek enjoys playing golf, grilling, and taking his dogs to the dog park.

While attending Logan University, Dr. Thayer was involved in multiple organizations and clubs including Logan Sports Council and volunteered at several special needs clinics in downtown St. Louis, MO.
Following receiving his doctorate, Dr. Thayer moved to the Kansas City area where he opened his own practice, Peculiar Family Chiropractic & Sports Medicine in 2016.
Dr. Thayer became a partner with another clinic that specializes in personal injury cases in 2019. He practices full time with SRC and part-time now at Peculiar Chiropractic. He specializes in several adjusting techniques, and has advanced training in soft tissue techniques and extremity adjusting. His passion is working with athletes and special needs patients.
Dr. Thayer enjoys outdoor activities, home renovations, and playing with his dog Cooper.

Gaby is prior service and served in the United States Army, and her father was active duty in the Army. She has a passion for veterans and working with EMS/Fire/PD. Gaby handles the administration and billing for the clinic, as well as offering bodywork to patients. She loves to teach and currently teaches aqua classes at a local recreation center.
Gaby enjoys visiting her family in Springfield, watching the Chiefs, and playing disc golf.
